• June 13th primary
  • 526 total votes in the city, 340 for Webb, 186 for Miller.
  • Miller supporing Webb.
• Heritage Festival
  • ~100 volunteer signups (across all jurisdictions; Dan Smolen has originals, and will share).
  • $130 from t-shirt sales.
• Quarterly Steering / Central Committee
  • Unanimous adoption of Virginia Partisan's resolution against the marriage amendment.
  • Miller appeared w/ Webb at Unity Rally.

Old Business

Adoption of by-laws

Parliamentarian, 5 minutes

• Proposed motion: "Resolved that the Fredericksburg Democratic Committee adopts the updated bylaws circulated (or as amended here) to the committee, and directs the Secretary to send the updated version to the State party."

Voter ID Project

Chair, 10 minutes

• Neighborhood recruitment: we need committee folks to help identify and recruit people in each neighborhood who can function as a point of contact and information for us. For a list of the neighborhoods, please see:

  • Committee chairs have agreed to split costs on a booth ($260), and to split staffing (M-F 5:00 - 9:00 PM, Saturdays 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, Sunday 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM).
  • Shawn O'Donnell will be there Sunday, 30 July.
• Regional Democratic Picnic
  • Shirley has pavilion reserved at Old Mill Park for Sunday, 3 September 2006 (Labor Day weekend).
  • Shawn has said he can be there, and could get a "big" speaker.
