The Stafford County Virginia Democratic Committee and the Fredericksburg Democratic Committee hereby announce that they will hold an assembled caucus at 10:00 A.M. on June 9, 2007 in Rooms A/B/C of the Stafford County Government Center, located at 1300 Courthouse Road in Stafford, Virginia 22554, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the 28th District of the Virginia House of Delegates. The 28th District of the Virginia House of Delegates consists of precincts 101, 201, 301, 401, and 402 in the City of Fredericksburg, and, precincts 104 (Ramoth), a portion of 302 (Widewater), 303 (Harbour) a portion of 401 (Aquia), 402 (Courthouse), 403 (Brooke), 501 (Grafton), 502 (Falmouth), 503 (Drew), 504 (Gayle), 601 (Ferry Farm), 602 (Chatham), 603 (White Oak), 701 (Woodlands), and a portion of 702 (Whitson) in Stafford County.

Any person wishing to be a candidate for nomination to the 28th District of the Virginia House of Delegates must file a written Declaration of Candidacy accompanied by a $25.00 filing fee payable to the Fredericksburg Democratic Committee. The Declaration of Candidacy and filing fee payment must be mailed to Tres Seaver, Chair of the Fredericksburg Democratic Committee, (address), Fredericksburg, Virginia (zip code), and received prior to Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. Eastern Time. The Declaration of Candidacy form may be obtained from Tres Seaver, Chair of the Fredericksburg Democratic Committee, P. O. Box 1261, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22402, online at www.fredericksburgdem.org, or by calling 540-429-0999. No person failing to comply with the pre-filing requirements may be considered for nomination. If, following the pre-filing deadline, only one candidate, that has complied with pre-filing requirements, has declared his or her candidacy, or if no candidates declare, then the caucus will be cancelled.

Any person attending the 28th District Virginia House of Delegates caucus, before participating in that caucus, shall sign a standardized declaration form stating that he or she is a Democrat, does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic Party nominee in the ensuing general election, and is a registered voter in 28th District of the Virginia House of Delegates. Declaration forms must be filled out at the caucus prior to 10:00 A.M. Doors to the caucus will be closed at that time and no person may complete a form or enter the caucus after that time, with the exception of those persons in line at the above mentioned time.
